Getting to the Root of Your Back Pain

Are You Worried About Back Pain That Hasn't Gone Away On It's Own?

Have you tried everything but the pain keeps coming back?

Have you lost too many days and plans to lying on the couch in complete misery?

What if you could reverse it and spend time with family and friends instead? Or gardening? Or hiking? Or skiing?

At Healing in Motion Physical Therapy, we help people in Wheat Ridge and Surrounding Areas find relief from back pain without medications, invasive procedures or visits to a doctor's office.

Back pain can be very scary, especially when you don’t know what you are dealing with. It is difficult to think rationally when every time you move you feel a jolt of pain. It is perfectly normal to be frustrated and cranky when dealing with back pain.

The longer it goes on and the more therapies you try, the more hopeless you may feel about ever getting your normal life back.

No wonder so many people are desperate for relief.

Do you ever ask yourself...

Why does my back pain hurt so much? (I don’t even know what I did…)

Why doesn't medication (or stretching or icing or resting...) seem to help for long?

Why isn’t this leg pain going away?

Am I going to have to live with back stiffness forever?

If you or someone you know is suffering from back pain you are in the right place.

I have good news: you don’t have to “live with it”.

There is still more that can be done, and I will show you how.

The cause of back pain is usually due to an imbalance in the muscles that push, pull, stretch, and compress your body.

Do you notice that your muscles are pulling you to one side? Do you tend to sit shifted to one side or feel like you always have to cross your legs? Do you notice a catch when you try to stand up, or you find it difficult to straighten up. You may also feel like you can't bend forward. These symptoms are signs of a muscular imbalance.

In my experience of treating patients with upper and lower back pain, our lifestyle and posture are the prime contributors to the spinal dysfunction.

Unfortunately, when back pain is making it difficult to move, you end up giving up activities and sports you love.

It's my mission to help my patients get their mobility and independence back and return to the lifestyle they want to live. Here's how:

The Healing in Motion PT Process:

Image

Step 1: Listen

You are a unique individual. So the first step is always to listen to your story so we can understand your specific situation, how you got there, and where you want to go.

Image

Step 2: Discover

You may know what your systems are, but we want to get to the root of your pain to give you lasting relief. So we do a full examination to uncover any muscle imbalances or deficiencies that are leading to your pain.

Step 3: Strengthen

We eliminate your pain and keep it from coming back by strengthening the places that are weak and loosening the areas that are tight so your body is back in balance and functioning smoothly and pain-free.

Unfortunately, many people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.

The one thing I can guarantee is that by doing nothing, your back pain won’t get better. It may go away for a couple months, but then it will come back. You have to address the root cause of why this happened in the first place.

Don't wait. Just imagine what you would do without back pain slowing you down. Would you...

  • Spend time going out with friends or family instead of lying on the couch?

  • Get back on the slopes this winter?

  • Take the longer trail on your next hike?

  • Get your garden back in shape this season?

  • Play with the kids instead of sitting on the sidelines?

I had some back/shoulder pain from shoveling snow and went to see Elena at Healing in Motion Physical Therapy. She was able to help me recover quickly with some massage techniques, dry needling and showed me some stretches to do at home. I've never had a provider do dry needling on me before and it was so effective! I'll definitely be calling on Elena again if I have any other issues.

Highly recommend! Elena has helped me recover from herniated disc and other issues, and has helped me get back to normal daily activities. Her knowledge is incredible. I just love the manual therapy, hot stones, needles, and Pilates. She is the best physical therapist I have ever been too!
